Heraeus Noblelight provides infrared and Xenon flash lamp heat source solutions for a wide variety of composite materials and processes including thermosetting resins and thermoplastics used for AFP, ATL, filament winding, and molding. See the newest product in the humm3® Xenon flash lamp product family, the humm3 discovery, the next generation of our original humm3 lab system which has accumulated many thousands of runtime hours and is in use in prestigious organizations around the world. Recent successful trials tested humm3 discovery’s capabilities for filament winding across a range of composite materials. The goal of these trials is to develop practical applications in the automotive industry. humm3 is a powerful pulsed broadband heat source designed specifically with composites in mind. It is perfect for Automated Fibre Placement (AFP), Automated Tape Layup (ATL), and filament winding. humm3 is a safe, highly controllable heat source that controls the heat profile using three programmable parameters: energy, duration, and frequency. Infrared systems from Heraeus Noblelight are used in the manufacture of composite parts and can heat the materials rapidly and homogenously, resulting in faster production rates. Our infrared emitters have a very short response time, often within seconds, which makes heat controllable and helps ensure energy efficiency. The systems are relatively compact heating units, which can heat large components on a conveyor belt, without the need for a large oven to surround the entire part. Heraeus design engineers precisely match the infrared radiation to the product and process and use modern numerical methods such as ray tracing and computational fluid dynamics to ensure homogeneous heating of large surfaces. Heraeus Noblelight’s Michael Edward, Simulation Engineer, will be presenting his paper, “Optimization of Xenon Flashlamp heating in thermoplastic Automated Fiber Placement”, during CAMX 2021.

CAMX — the Composites and Advanced Materials Expo — is where the world of composites comes together. CAMX delivers hundreds of exhibitors in a dynamic marketplace unlike any other for products, solutions, networking, and advanced industry thinking, combined with the industry’s premier education program — featuring more than 150 presentations, a general session, technical papers, education sessions, theater presentations, and campfire sessions.

WHAT IS CAMX +

The CAMX team understands that not everyone may be able to travel to Dallas this year for the in-person event, so we’re pleased to include a digital extension: CAMX+.

CAMX+ is a digitally optimized experience that allows remote attendees to participate in CAMX from anywhere in the world. Digital attendees will be able to see some of the same content as our in-person guests, and you will be able to enjoy a plethora of the world-class, educational sessions you’ve come to expect at CAMX on-demand.

OPENING GENERAL SESSION

Tuesday, October 19, 2021 | 8:30 am - 10:00 am ET

Don’t miss an inspirational keynote at the General Session, open to all attendees and exhibitors, focusing on how composites innovations in the aerospace industry can be applied to a variety of manufacturing processes.

This year’s presentation Mission Ready: Composites Innovations in Defense will be presented by Gregory (Greg) M. Ulmer, Executive Vice President (EVP) of the Aeronautics business area for Lockheed Martin Corporation.

LIVE DEMONSTRATIONS

CAMX features a unique, three-day learning experience, with over 10 live demos on vacuum infusion, light resin transfer molding, and advanced processes producing real-life part. See, touch, feel, and learn from industry leaders...only at CAMX!

GOOD DAY, CAMX!

Finish up your CAMX experience with one final networking opportunity, and hear insights from the next generation of composites professionals about leading industry topics. Good Day, CAMX! will be open to all CAMX and CAMX+ registrants.

THANK YOU TO OUR ELITE SPONSORS.
