The Club at Carlton Woods located in The Woodlands, TX is seeking a passionate, highly skilled leader to join their team as Mechanic Supervisor. Under the general supervision of the Director of Agronomy, the Mechanic Supervisor is responsible for servicing, maintaining and overseeing the equipment fleet and assistant equipment technicians.

Established in 1998, The Club at Carlton Woods features both a Jack Nicklaus design and Tom Fazio design.Both golf courses continue to be ranked in the top ten in the state of Texas and the top 175 in the country. POSITION OVERVIEW:

The selected candidate will be a passionate and accomplished leader, who brings energy to join an ambitious team.  The Mechanic Supervisor will work closely with the Director of Agronomy, the Golf Course Superintendents, and their respective teams. The Mechanic Supervisor oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for the golf course assets including over $5M fleet of equipment, service areas, maintenance facility complex, tools, technology, and parts. The individual will be expected to create a supportive, professional environment reflective of a top performing facility in the United States.

 

INITIAL PRIORITIES OF POSITION:

  • Learn the culture, operations, service standards and team at The Club at Carlton Woods. 
  • Ensure foundational preventative maintenance programs, equipment inventory and identification, digital record keeping, and communication programs are current.
  • Provide input and oversight into the development of the maintenance facility best management practices including compliance, safety requirements, label database including SDS & MSDS labels, equipment wash and storage practices, fuel facilities, and waste handling. 
  • Collaborate with the Director of Grounds on all budgetary information, pricing and work order systems for parts and supplies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND APTITUDE:

  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all golf course equipment, including machinery, vehicles, hand tools, and systems. Keep track of equipment details, such as purchase dates, maintenance records, and replacement schedules.
  • Implement a regular maintenance schedule for all equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend their lifespan. Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs to address issues before they become major problems.
  • Utilize a reliable equipment tracking system to monitor usage, maintenance activities, and repairs. 
  • Provide proper training to equipment operators to ensure they understand how to operate and maintain the equipment safely and effectively. 
  • Establish strict safety protocols for equipment operation and maintenance. Emphasize the importance of wearing appropriate protective gear, following safety guidelines, and conducting regular safety inspections.
  • Create and manage a comprehensive budget alongside the Director of Golf Courses and Grounds.
  • Equipment Storage and Security for proper security measures, such as locks, alarms, and video surveillance, to safeguard valuable assets.
  • Efficiently manage the golf course fleet by tracking usage, monitoring fuel consumption, and implementing maintenance schedules. 
  • Continuously evaluate equipment performance to identify areas for improvement. Monitor factors like fuel efficiency, maintenance costs, downtime, and the quality of results achieved.
  • Utilize data and analytics to make informed decisions about equipment management. 
  • Stay up to date with local regulations and environmental requirements related to equipment use, facility storage, safety, maintenance, disposal, emissions, noise pollution, and hazardous materials.
  • Builds relationships with industry suppliers, technicians, and trade schools to provide continuous development for Fall Line employees.
  • Pushes themself to consistently find the best solutions, practices, and methods to provide a world-class product and service. 
  • Manage golf cart fleet including perform preventative maintenance to ensure carts are safe, mechanically sound and maintained with a detailing program. 
  • Maintain company vehicles and driving range equipment with preventative maintenance programs.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • $95,000-$110,000 per year

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 years assistant mechanic at a high end facility or higher background.
  • A certificate or degree from an accredited automotive repair, diesel engine or similar field is preferred; or verifiable on the job training
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
