You are our mission’s Essential Ingredient!

Year-End Fundraising Goal: $144,000

At the Cade, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn. Now more than ever, your kindness and generosity are essential for us to continue to provide educational outreach into underserved elementary schools in Alachua County and beyond.

These outreach opportunities close achievement gaps by providing experiences that foster creativity and development of an inventive mindset. Your gift of any amount is truly essential to the success of our mission to transform communities by inspiring and equipping future inventors, entrepreneurs, and visionaries.

Each of us possesses within us the power to change the world for the better. That power is what we at the Cade Museum call Inventivity ™. The invention story of Gatorade exemplifies Inventivity ™ in action.

Mary Cade was the wife of Dr. James Robert Cade, the lead inventor of Gatorade. If you’ve visited the Cade Museum, you might’ve learned how Dr. Cade invented the famous sports drink. But did you know that his first batch of the solution had a flavor that none of the football players wanted to drink? When Dr. Cade came home, perplexed about how to make the drink more palatable, it was Mary Cade who solved the problem. She mentioned to her husband that she often added lemon to her cooking when she needed to improve the flavor. He took her advice and this small but vital contribution to the Gatorade experiment ultimately saved the lives of countless of kidney patients and forever changed the beverage and sports industries.

Just a little lemon was the essential ingredient that made Gatorade the success is it today. In this season of giving, we want you to know that YOU are our mission’s essential ingredient! Your gift of any amount will help us achieve our mission to transform communities by inspiring and equipping future inventors, entrepreneurs, and visionaries.

Please support the Cade this holiday season. Your gift is essential!
