"How to Keep Your New Leader Onboarding from Flying Off the Rails" - Wednesday, November 15th - 8:30 to 9:30am 

During their onboarding period, new leaders need to be introduced to organizational culture and priorities, leadership philosophies and expectations, as well as the technical aspects of their job. Traditional onboarding programs will include all or some of these needs. However, there are additional objectives that can be just as important but are often overlooked in these programs. Our session provides a framework that allows for the successful integration of all onboarding elements and ensures consistency, efficiency, and the application and demonstration of all elements in the work environment. Session Objectives: 1. Identify and discuss the key components of a successful leadership onboarding program. 2. Analyze common barriers and challenges to implementing a consistent leadership onboarding program and develop strategies to overcome these challenges. 3. Apply a consistent and comprehensive framework to new or existing onboarding programming to ensure all key components are integrated through various learning channels, experiential on the job opportunities and leadership/mentor support.
