Mount Vernon Country Club in Alexandria, VA is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to aid in directing the golf course operations. The club is in the initial planning stages for a facility wide Master Plan including golf course improvements such as bunkers, drainage and other renovation work.

 

Mount Vernon Country Club is an 18-hole private club that was established in 1961. Amenities include an 18-hole golf course, driving range, a dedicated short game practice facility and a pool. MVCC consists of bentgrass greens and tees, and Latitude-36 Bermudagrass fairways.

Initial Priorities of the Position:

• Will work alongside the Golf Course Superintendent and current Assistant in agronomic programming operations including pesticide/fertility, irrigation, personnel, record keeping, cultivation and maintenance of the golf course, club grounds and landscaping.
• Involved in planning all aspects of maintenance and project work to achieve the maintenance standards and long-range goals as defined by the golf course superintendent.
• Helps oversee the hiring, training, scheduling, safety and routing of personnel to accomplish the work.
• Communicates regularly with the golf course superintendent to discuss activities, goals, plans, and member input.

Position Requirements:

• 2-or 4-year degree preferred in Agronomy or Turfgrass Management.
• Minimum of 4-years of progressive golf course experience including irrigation, pesticide management, crew management,
• This is not a must and would be willing to work with a motivated individual and provide continued education requirements.
