About Pyrocal: 

Pyrocal is an Australian-owned and operated company designing and manufacturing industrial-scale biochar production systems using continuous carbonization technology. Pyrocal has invested heavily in research and development over the past 10 years to optimize the system to recover energy and produce biochar from agricultural and forestry waste biomass and biosolids. In 2019, Pyrocal was contracted by leading integrated services provider Downer, to partner in a highly complex project to deliver Australia’s first biosolids gasification facility for the City of Logan, transforming biosolids into energy and biochar. Since opening in 2022, this major infrastructure project has received multiple engineering and water awards and resulted into the following benefits to the City of Logan. - Operational cost savings of AUD$1M per annum - Produced more than 4,000 tonnes of biochar - Energy recovery of between 1.1 to 1.5 kW/kg biosolids - PFAS destruction of >91% - A reported reduction of 6000t CO2-eq per annum in carbon emissions - International profile Contact us: [email protected] [email protected]
