We have three categories of membership:

 

ENERGY PROFESSIONAL membership is for those in the private sector, such as private institutions of higher learning, nonprofits, associations, think tanks, law firms, etc. Annual membership is $235.

 

GOVERNMENT ENERGY PROFESSIONAL membership is for non-attorneys in the energy industry at a government agency. Annual membership is $100.

 

ACADEMIC ENERGY PROFESSIONAL membership is for non-attorney professionals employed at an education institution. Annual membership is $100.

ENERGY LAW JOURNAL (ELJ) 

The ELJ is a preeminent energy publication, providing thought-provoking and deeply researched articles for over 40 years, by practitioners, internationally known academics, Federal judges, high ranking government officials and members of FERC.  Your digital access to the Journal is free with membership. 

 

EBA BRIEF

EBA's quarterly online magazine features an in depth look at the legal, policy, and economic issues of the energy industry, including the electric, gas, oil, renewables and hydroelectric sectors.  Readers should expect insightful articles on current cases, regulatory actions, and industry trends and members are encouraged to submit articles for consideration. The EBA Brief will serve as an excellent opportunity for members to exchange ideas, remain current, and engage in open debate. 

 

ANNUAL ENERGY SECTOR REPORTS

Energy Professionals who satisfy the membership criteria set forth below, are encouraged to join the EBA. Energy Professional members will have the opportunity to participate in all of the Association's programs and activities, with the exception of voting.

 

A resume, biographical sketch or description of your background and experience in the energy field must be submitted with your application.

 

Energy Professionals will be considered for Energy Bar Association membership if their credentials meet one or more of the following criteria:

  1. employment in a professional capacity in an energy company or an energy industry trade association;
  2. employment in a professional capacity in a federal, state or local government organization that has jurisdiction over energy companies;
  3. employment in a professional capacity in a firm that provides professional services to energy companies or governmental organizations that have jurisdiction over energy companies;
  4.  employment or affiliation at an academic institution in a field related to or supporting energy law and policy; or
  5. professional experience within the past five years in matters pertaining to the development, administration, and/or application of energy law and policy, such as economic analysis, engineering analysis, regulatory analysis, project development or contract administration (each pertaining to energy).
