Shay Roehm, Innovation Business Development Specialist at DroneBase, has over twenty years of combined experience in product and project management, and most recently, UAS use case and mission development. After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree at Auburn University, Shay completed her Juris Doctor degree at Cumberland School of Law. in Birmingham, AL. Shay’s previous work as Director of Operations for multiple entities provided the opportunity to explore innovation in many industries, including sensor technology, where she found her passion for UAS use case development. Shay is an FAA Part 107 UAS pilot and has completed Thermography I Certification (ITC) and extensive coursework in LIDAR operations. Her most recent UAS project development includes integration of UAS asset inspection at Los Angeles Metro, urban traffic study for the City of Los Angeles and development of inspection protocols for UAS data collection at oil platforms for Exxon-Mobil. In her current position at DroneBase, Shay serves in dual role, developing innovative UAS business opportunities in multiple industries, including government, transportation, AEC and critical infrastructure, as well as assisting in the development of mission protocols and procedures for these services. Outreach to UAS pilots is a top priority for Shay, and her work with Veteran non-profit groups, Women & Drones and a recently designed youth STEM program that utilizes racing drones all offer many opportunities for continued service to the UAS community.
