Fred & Charlotte Hubbell Visiting Artists In Residence
Sandbox Percussion will spend five days working with our Academy Students, area high school students and Drake University students. Plus they will perform Viet Cuong's Re(new)al with the Orchestra! The Visiting Artist In Residence program, which featured violinist Kevin Zhu in its inaugural year, was made possible by a generous gift from Fred & Charlotte Hubbell. |

Killers of the Flower Moon at Varsity Cinema FRI OCT 20 7:00 PM
Join us at the Varsity Cinema for the premiere of Martin Scorsese's newest film, Killers of the Flower Moon! The evening will feature long-time Symphony violinist Genevieve Salamone, who composed and performed her own original music for the movie's premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

This dramatization of C.S. | Des Moines Playhouse - Seussical the Musical
The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.
